In Aug 2019, I was hired to be a Lab Teaching Assistant for UC Berkeley's flagship robotics course. I led lab sections of 20 students clarifying questions about ROS, kinematics, vision, control, and path-planning. My teaching efficacy was rated 18% higher than the department average.
In Aug 2020, I took over as the Head Teaching Assistant, adding coordinating course staff meetings, content development and deployment, and managing industry and academia partnerships to my duties. Under my leadership, our course staff:
- Supported a 43% growth in class size with a rise in student satisfaction (20% higher than department average)
- Increased retention of students identifying as female, nonbinary, and otherwise underrepresented groups
- Stewarded cross-listing between three undergraduate and graduate departments to improve course accessibility
Received Outstanding Graduate Student Instructor Award (2020-2021)
