Oodles of Doodles was developed to help alleviate feelings of social isolation in teenage patients at the UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital, Oakland. Extensive user research demonstrated a dizzying number of constraints, including but not limited to privacy concerns and physiological sensitivities of patients. Feedback from prototype users shows that Oodles of Doodles is a promising avenue for increasing feelings of connectedness in hospitalized youth.
